Andrea has over 25 years of riding, showing and teaching experience, and enjoys teaching all levels of rider from beginner to advanced. She fell in love with horses when she was 2 and her mom was riding in local parades. She started taking lessons at the age of 5 and never looked back. She competed in local and national “A” shows in Hunters and Jumpers all the way up to the Grand Prix level. She has numerous championships at the various levels and was a member of the 1999 Zone 7 North American Young Riders Team.
After graduating from college with her degree in psychology, Andrea continued riding and teaching while working her way up the corporate ladder in the Global Logistics field. She realized that the corporate world, while it taught her so much and helped her grow immensely as a person, was not where her heart was. She decided to leave that world behind and dedicate herself full time to sharing her passion for horses with others.
To add to her teaching toolbox, she completed an internship and received her certification through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH Int’l) in order to be able to teach horseback riding and horsemanship to individuals with special needs. This has allowed her to become a more well-rounded instructor for all her students.
Andrea is married with a 5 year old daughter, Lily, who loves spending time out at the barn with her mom. You will probably see Lily helping to sweep up the barn when given the chance!

She tends to get pretty excited about her jo
Cooper is an 8 year old registered Thoroughbred. He started his career as a racehorse! Andrea rescued him and nursed him back to health. Electra is an 8 year old AQHA registered appendix mare. She is the queen of sassiness in our barn! She loves to be ridden and takes super care of our little beginner riders all the way up to our advanced jumper riders! She’s a barn favorite amongst Breakaway’s riders.
